Lucius Doolittle-Co. G

Lucius Doolittle, the highly respected commander of Co. G,  joined the 15th Ohio on September 9, 1861. Promoted to 2nd Lt. on July 1, 1862--1st Lt. on March 18, 1864 and Captain on January 18, 1865. He mustered out with the Company in Texas on November 21, 1865.

1902 REUNION PHOTO

This Reunion Photo was taken in 1902. Lucius Doolittle can be seen standing on the far left of the photo.

The site today-Snodgrass Hill-Chickamauga, Ga.

Using clues found in the original picture, we were able to identify the site of this Reunion Photo as being taken on Snodgrass Hill, just to the left of the cabin that served as General Thomas's Headquarters. Jim Ogden, chief historian at Chickamauga N.M.P., confirmed the location. (Photo by Robert Bundy)
